Collecting Lab Results: Why It Matters

Scale

Dietitians at Home is excited to announce that each employed Registered Dietitian (RD) is now trained to collect lab results in the home! This process is very simple and only takes about 15 minutes to complete. With just a small finger prick an RD can see what labs are trouble areas and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to help improve lab results. Each RD will be equipped with two analyzers, one to collect a lipid panel and the other to collect an A1c. A lipid panel is comprised of Total Cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), and Triglycerides. An A1c is a percentage that tells the RD how a patient’s blood sugar has been managed over the past three months. The American Diabetes Association recommends the goal of keeping A1c <7%. With these new and exciting tools, the RD will be able to provide individualized counseling that will help improve the patient’s labs and overall health! We will be rolling this out soon!
