Here are a few helpful tips to stay hydrated and safe during the hot summer months:

  • Make sure to drink enough water
  • Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, such as dizziness, fainting, excessive sweating, cold of clammy skin, headaches, or nausea
  • Exercise in a cool place
  • Check blood glucose at least four times a day
  • Store blood glucose meters, strips, and insulin in a cool, dry place
